“Unlocking potential” was the theme of Mizuho Investment & Corporate Banking’s Senior Banker Onsite this year. Exploring how the banking division can continue to add value, make an impact and up our game with clients, employees and partners across the firm. We heard perspectives on activism from seasoned investor, Michael O’Mary of the D. E. Shaw group, as well as Latham & Watkins Shareholder Activism & Takeover Defense Practice team leads. Another highlight was a discussion from experienced board member, corporate advisor and senior executive, Barbara Byrne on her strategies for enhanced client engagement. The onsite also consisted of presentations on objectives and strategies for Mizuho from Jerry Rizzieri, President & CEO of Mizuho Securities USA and Head of CIB, as well as Mizuho Americas’ Head of I&CB, Michal Katz, COO, Peter Calistri, Head of Strategy, Paul Hughes, Head of Equities, Darlene Pasquill, and Head of Fixed Income, Tom Hartnett.
The events concluded with an inspirational presentation from U.S. Navy SEAL Command Master Chief (Ret.) Stephen "Mato" Matulewicz of the Navy SEAL Foundation, who emphasized the importance of preparation, innovation and resilience in both business and life. Amazing energy, content and engagement to drive forward our purpose of being a partner of choice to our clients. We thank our exceptional guest speakers, Mizuho panelists and attendees for making this year’s event a smashing success.
