IBM will continue to be active in M&A throughout the economic cycles, Senior Vice President for Strategy and M&A Alex Stern told Michal Katz, Head of Investment & Corporate Banking for Mizuho Americas, during the Mizuho | Greenhill Dealmakers Forum. While valuations of market-leading businesses still tend to be high, overall company valuations have decreased. Venture capital and private equity firms need to monetize assets to return investor capital, and this has made them more open to selling portfolio companies.
