Mizuho Bank Malaysia Berhad has officially launched its Islamic Banking Window, (IBW) which enables provision of Islamic finance products denominated in the local currency, Malaysian Ringgit. The launch of IBW operations is a further testament of Mizuho Bank Malaysia’s commitment to support the Malaysian government’s efforts to make Malaysia a leader in Islamic finance.
Mizuho Bank Malaysia began its Islamic finance journey back in 2013 when it launched the International Currency Business Unit, which allows the provision of Islamic financing transactions denominated in a foreign currency. Over the past 11 years, Mizuho Bank Malaysia has managed to build a sizeable portfolio of foreign currency assets that has contributed to its healthy growth and profitability.
