New York and Houston, September 1, 2017 – Mizuho Americas today announced a $100,000 donation by Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. to Habitat for Humanity in support of assistance for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the communities and our colleagues who have been impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey," said Hiroshi Suehiro, CEO of Mizuho Americas. "Mizuho's donation will help support Habitat for Humanity in providing much needed assistance during the response efforts over the months to come."
Mizuho Financial Group will donate an additional ¥500,000 from its Mizuho Charity Fund, which is funded by charitable contributions by Mizuho employees, to an organization providing relief to the impacted area.
Mizuho Americas will also match employee donations made to organizations supporting Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
