New York, November 6, 2019 – Mizuho Americas today announced that Vijay Jethwa, Director, Structured Credit Group, has received the 2019 Future Leader Award as a standout performer in Airline Economics magazine’s annual 40 Under 40 issue. Jethwa was recognized for “the number and caliber of the comments received by peers, clients, and industry grandees.”
The magazine cited his role in leading the structuring and distribution of a variety of aviation asset-backed transactions, many of them described as “first of its kind”, including the first-ever aircraft ABS portfolio sale with an E-Note into Asia for GE Capital Aviation Services, where Mizuho served as the sole lead in the $1 billion transaction.
Other accomplishments include structuring and distributing the first multi-billion-dollar wireless spectrum asset back security (ABS) for a leading US telecommunications company. Jethwa also played a key role in the first-ever truly tradeable aircraft ABS equity deal for Air Lease Corporation and more recently, left led BBAM’s Horizon 2018-1 which was recognized as the fastest execution time frame for an aircraft ABS portfolio sale and the tightest blended debt pricing.
Jethwa is responsible for originating, structuring, and distributing non-traditional debt and equity solutions for corporate clients across sectors. He is a graduate of Harvard University.
