Post BOJ Monetary Policy Meeting - Video Conference Call

We invite you to join us for a post Bank of Japan (BoJ) Monetary Policy meeting analysis from Shunsuke Kobayashi (Chief Economist) and Shoki Omori (Chief Desk Strategist for Rates & FX); both from Mizuho Securities Tokyo, and Evelyne Gomez-Liechti (Multi-Asset Strategist) from Mizuho International.

At the last meeting, the BoJ finally abolished negative rates. Despite this, $Yen has continued to go higher since. We do not anticipate another hike at the April meeting, however communication from Governor Ueda will hint at the potential future policy path that the BoJ may undertake.

Shunsuke will share his views on the implication of the BOJ’s decision for the Japanese economy for 15 minutes, followed by Shoki, who will discuss the impact on Rates & FX markets, and suggest some actionable trade ideas with Evelyne.
