On the occasion of The Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7), held on 27 August 2019 in Yokohama, Mr Hiroshi Nagamine, Managing Executive Officer, Head of EMEA, Mizuho Bank, Ltd., signed a Business Cooperation Agreement ('BCA'), with Attijariwafa Bank (‘AWB’). The BCA covers a broad range of banking and related services.
Toru Inoue, MD & Head, Structured Finance Department Europe, commented that: "The signing of this BCA is an expression of Mizuho’s strong desire to develop further our business activities on the African continent. Our strategy in building our regional footprint is to seek to work with undoubted local parties; that have excellent reputation, deep regional know how and experience. Attijariwafa Bank is an absolute ideal partner given its reputation as a regional champion and as an institution at the forefront of meeting the ever more complex needs of entities doing business not just in Morocco, but in the region generally. By signing this BCA we have further grown our coverage. Mizuho will now have more flexibility and will be better able to support our clients by availing ourselves to our new business partners’ excellent African network."
