London, 4 February 2020: Mizuho International today announced appointments within its Fixed Income business. All appointments are effective between December 2019 and February 2020.
Iftikhar Ali has joined in the Emerging Markets Trading team where he will be market making in EMEA Emerging Markets bonds to facilitate client business. Ali joins from BNP Paribas where he was Head of CEEMEA Credit Trading.
Andy Porter has joined in the Emerging Markets Sales team, where he will provide Emerging Markets sales coverage to UK and European clients. Most recently Porter was at Standard Charted where he was Head of Credit Sales, Europe and previously in Emerging Market Credit Sales.
Renato Giust has joined the European Government Bonds (EGB) trading team, trading EGBs in peripheral markets. Giust joins from ING where he was a trader on Italian government bonds. He was also Head of the EGB trading desk at ING between from 2013-2018. Giust previously worked at Mizuho International back in 2013 where was a market maker for long end core notes and we welcome him back to Mizuho. Giust is an experienced EGB market trader with special focus on Italian and peripheral debt.
Rodrigo Ostik joins in the IR Options and Inflation Swaps Trading team, where he will lead the development of this offering to the EMEA client base. Most recently Ostik was at AXA Investment Managers where he was Head of UK Liability Driven Investment Portfolio Management.
Sara Famouri has joined in the Securitised Product Sales team and will focus on developing the global franchise for the EMEA client base. Famouri was most recently at Wells Fargo where she worked in the ABS Sales team.
Venkata Kota joins as Head of MTNs in the Structured Trading and Financing team, where he will manage, originate and execute MTNs and SPV notes with EMEA and Japanese clients. Kota joins from Deutsche Bank where he ran the Global Markets Cross Product Structuring team. He brings with him a 12 year track record of leadership in transaction origination and structuring in global market.
Mikey Nguyen has joined as a trader in the Structured Trading and Financing team. He will be focusing on growing the structured financing activity, in collaboration with other Mizuho entities. Nguyen joins from Deutsche Bank in the Global Markets Structuring team where he was responsible for Credit Solutions and Liquid Asset Financing.
Scott Fong has joined in the Credit Sales team focusing on UK clients. He joins from Natixis where he covered Flow Credit/Rates Sales for the UK.
Despoina Tripylioti has joined in the Credit Trading team as a Junior Credit Trader, where she will trade and provide markets in Corporate Bonds. She joins from Apple Tree Capital where she was an Investment Specialist, focusing on macro and fixed income. Prior to this she worked at GAM and JP Morgan as a Portfolio Manager for multi-asset funds covering credit and fixed income.
