We are delighted to announce that, on January 31, 2023, Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (President & Group CEO: Masahiro Kihara) was chosen to be included in the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index.
As global investors seek to analyze a wider range of information when assessing a firm's reputation, value, and performance, the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index brings a new level of clarity and awareness to community engagement and corporate governance information in terms of gender equality. This year, 484 companies from 45 countries (including 15 Japanese companies) were selected. We received this honor for the seventh year in a row.
In June 2022, we released Mizuho's Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, a statement of the commitment shared by our group worldwide. It puts forward three specific individual commitments: to celebrate diversity, to promote work-life satisfaction, and to create an inclusive culture. The commitment is one way in which we are fostering diversity and inclusion throughout our global organization.
In FY2022, we have been further accelerating our promotion of diversity and inclusion, including for the advancement of women in the workplace, with executive management taking the lead. For example, the executive officers of every division now serve as mentors for women executive leader candidates. We will continue to listen to our employees, who come from a variety of different backgrounds, and create an environment that maximizes the diverse perspectives, ideas, and abilities of each and every employee, while also striving to sustainably enhance our corporate value.
