In August 2017, the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. announced the establishment of a disclosure regime beginning on January 1, 2018 for "Corporate Governance Reports" concerning disclosures about retired President/CEO holding advisory positions (positions such as "sodanyaku," "komon," etc.). In light of growing social awareness regarding such advisory positions and the proposals concerning disclosures included in "Practical Guidelines for Corporate Governance Systems (CGS Guidelines)" formulated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in March 2017, Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. ("The Company", President & Group CEO: Yasuhiro Sato) has determined today to disclose our advisor (komon) system, as set forth in the attachment (PDF/326KB) to this press release.
As a front–runner in the area of corporate governance, the Company has been carrying out reforms such as the functional enhancement of the Company as a group holding company as well as the transformation into a Company with Three Committees.
