We sincerely apologize to our customers and other affected parties for significant disruptions caused by the series of IT system failures which occurred at our subsidiary, Mizuho Bank.
In order to prevent further incidents and regain your trust, we have set up the System Failure Special Investigative Committee as part of our efforts to identify the cause of the system failures, evaluate the validity of measures to prevent recurrence, and obtain recommendations. We and our subsidiaries have been cooperating with the investigation of the Committee since it began on March 22.
Today, we are pleased to inform you that the Committee has submitted its Investigative Report, and we are releasing a summary of the report translated in English language as follows.
We take the results of this investigation seriously, and will decide on improvement measures at Mizuho and announce them separately.
